MOLLY NEEDED SURGERY

A few months later we saw Molly and her dad while we were dropping off supplies to them in temporary housing. We immediately noticed that Molly’s paws and tail were both extremely infected. Her bum was literally oozing puss and blood! Molly was born with a tight, corkscrew tail that is extremely difficult to clean, making her prone to very painful infection. Between her paws and her tail, we knew this poor girl was in A LOT of pain! Again, we got Molly seen by the vet, and she was treated with antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory injection to get her allergies and infection under control, and she was prescribed at-home medicated treatments.

Once her infection was treated, we sent Molly to a specialist for her tail, and they confirmed our concerns. Her tail is twisted up into her body and there is no way to get all the way underneath it to clear up the infection. The only way to prevent Molly from a life of painful, bloody infections was to fully remove her tail. Luckily, Molly was cleared for surgery and we were able to get her in ASAP!

MOLLY IS BACK WITH HER DAD

Molly is feeling good and oh so happy to be back with her dad! After a couple weeks of recovery with foster mom Cynthia, Molly’s tail amp has healed and she was ready to go back to the homeless shelter with her dad. Molly’s dad could not believe the change in her demeanor when he saw her. You can tell she just feels SO MUCH BETTER to be rid of that nasty infection.

Thank you to everyone that donated towards her surgery. Molly is a brand new woman because of you!

MOLLY THE BULLDOG

We met Molly and her dad at one of our WOTS Community events, and upon seeing Molly, we knew she needed more help than we could provide that day. Molly’s skin was itchy, flaky and raw in places. Her eyes were full of goop and ears chock full of wax and yeast.

We set Molly up at our local vet where she was treated for SEVERE skin, ear, tail pocket, skin fold and eye infections. She had a staph infection on her skin that required daily medicated baths, ear cleaning, antibiotics, eye drops and much more. We are grateful that the doctor and vet tech took an extra 30 minutes to go over in detail how to care for Molly moving forward. Molly’s infections are an on-going uphill battle that require intense daily care and multiple follow up visits.

Molly went back to the vet about 3 weeks later for a check up on her infections, and we were glad to hear from the vet that Molly’s dad's hard work has paid off. Molly’s ear infections were completely gone, and her skin and eyes were looking much better. The vet prescribed a stronger eye drop to better address the infection and some powder for her skin and interdigital cysts.

MOLLY’S SURGERY WAS A SUCCESS

Molly’s surgery went well and that nasty infected tail pocket is gone! Since this was such an intense surgery with a massive recovery, Molly’s dad agreed to let her recover with one of our experienced foster homes. Molly immediately seemed so much happier now that she is no longer in pain. She’s even got more pep in her step now!
